Before the web, people on the net would put their personal bits of whimsy into files known as .plans which could be accessed with the finger command. I still have a .plan which will tell you whether I am logged onto tcp.com or not via a script I wrote but not much else.

If you are interested, I have a copy of my original .plan which chronicles my experiences since my first access to the internet until my first access to the web. Because some believe the medium is the message, I have left this .plan in its original format.
